Overview
Bali is the largest tourist destination in the Indonesian archipelago and world renowned for its highly developed arts, including - but not limited to - dance, sculpture, painting, music and metalworking. Join us to experience Bali at its cultural best, in its wonderful capital, Denpasar.
Our first destination is Kumbasari and Badung Traditional Market - a vibrant and traditional island marketplace selling home wares, clothing, spices and fruit. It is also a fantastic place to buy local textiles, batiks and Ikats.
The Bali Museum is next up on our journey. Established in 1931, it comprises four main buildings: Tabanan, displaying theatrical masks and musical instruments, Karangasem, where you'll find local sculptures and paintings, Buleleng, for stunning textiles, and Timur, home to ancient archaeological finds. Here we will find museum staff often playing music on a bamboo gamelan.
Next up on the itinerary is a visit to the Bali Art Centre, where you will be in awe of the Balinese artwork on display, as well as stunning architectural illustrations, in a serene and strikingly beautiful setting.
At the end of the tour, we'll arrive back to the port in plenty of time before your departure.
Basic Itinerary:
- Depart from the port
- Drive towards the Kumbasari Market (45 minute drive)
- Visiting Kumbasari Market (45 minute visit)
- Drive towards Bali Museum (5 minute drive)
- Walk to and visit the Museum & Monument (60 minute visit)
- Continue to Art Center (5 minute drive)
- Visiting Art Center (45 minute visit)
- Free time (60 minutes) - where you can indulge in shopping or perhaps lunch
- Return to port (30-45 minute drive)
