Overview

Explore Altun Ha, once a model Mayan city, was the link in the Caribbean trade route that ran north through YucatÃ¡n. Its ruins were discovered by quarriers looking for stone to build the Old Northern Highway. Their discovery of 2000-year-old specimens was just the beginning of the uncovering of the remnants of 13 structures surrounding two plazas, including one 60-foot temple now called the Temple of the Sun God. After exploring the areas history it becomes time to kick back and relax.

Tubing has long been popular at artificial water parks, but this is a chance to try the real thing. And this tour features the newest and best cave-tubing equipment in Belize!

This series of caves are part of a national park located an hour outside of Belize City. As your guides open your eyes to Belize, your ride through the city and into the countryside will be as entertaining as the tubing itself!

Once you arrive at the park, you will spend approximately 30-45 minutes walking the trail to the first of two cave systems with your helmet and flashlight on your head. Now for the easy part. Relax and just float through the linked cave systems, viewing the sights as you pass, in and out from pitch black to filtered sunlight. Pools of sapphire blue water carry you on this unbelievable journey downstream. After about an hour and a half of tubing, you will have reached the end of your amazing adventure.

When your tubing adventure commences, you will have a chance to purchase lunch. Here you can share your stories before reboarding your ride back to Belize City.

Special Instructions

Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel, a bottle of water, a waterproof camera, and cash for beverages, snacks, lunch, and/or souvenirs.
We also recommend that you bring a bag for your towel and other belongings. Youll be able to leave your bag in our locked van.
We suggest that you wear water shoes, tennis shoes, or footwear that can get wet and has back straps.
No flip-flops.
Water shoes are available for rent at the caves.
Changing facilities and restrooms are available at the start/end of this trip.
It is important to arrive on time for this tour. If the tour starts late, it may impact the amount of time you will have at the sites or for lunch.
The minimum age to take this tour is 5 and the minimum height is 48 inches. The maximum age is 75 and you MUST be in good physical condition.
This tour is not available for people in wheelchairs. You must be able to walk over uneven surfaces.
