Overview
Your driver will collect you from your centrally located hotel in Chiang Mai, ready to leave the city behind!
Doi Inthanon National Park is well known for its beautiful wild flowers, great bird watching opportunities and its majestic waterfalls. Upon entering the park, you will immediately notice the change: houses and roads make place for trees and streams, while mountains take over from the vast fields in the Mae Ping valley.
Your short hike starts at a Mae Klong Luang village with a local Karen ranger who will lead you to the hiking trails. In this village, most of the villagers work at the
coffee plantation project, the quality of which you will be able to sample, while chatting with your Karen hosts. The first part of the trek is an easy walk from the village, through the forest and over the fields.
After about an hour, you will reach the first waterfall. Cross the stream and climb up to the next waterfall, where a picnic lunch will be taken. Here you will also have enough time to swim, sunbath and relax. After a rest, continue hiking alongside the stream. After walking through the forest and passing yet another beautiful waterfall, you will complete the trek where your driver will be waiting for you. On the way back to Chiang Mai, you will make a last stop at Watchirathan waterfall, one of the most spectacular in Northern Thailand.
You will be returned to your hotel at the end of your tour.
