Meet your guide at the port of Kagoshima who will guide you to your air conditioned transportation ready to transfer by ferry to Sakurajima.
On arrival into Sakurajima, the journey will begin, with the visitor center, an informative hub dedicated to one of Japan’s most active volcanoes. Through exhibits and videos, learn about Sakurajima’s volcanic history, past eruptions, and how the volcano continues to shape the region. This visit provides valuable insight before exploring the island.
The tour will continue to the Sakurajima Lava Nagisa Park and footbath. Relax and unwind at the park, which is home to a free outdoor footbath. Soak your feet in warm natural hot spring water while enjoying scenic views of the volcano and the surrounding sea, an ideal break after walking and sightseeing.
Next, after Nagis Park the tour will continue to the Arimura Lava Observatory. Explore Arimura Lava Observatory, where you can walk along paths surrounded by lava fields formed by past eruptions. This area offers impressive views of Sakurajima and a closer look at the powerful forces that have shaped the island’s landscape.
The final stop of the tour will be the Tenmonkan Shopping Arcade, where we return back to Kagoshima City to visit Tenmonkan, the city’s main shopping and entertainment district. Browse local shops, enjoy cafés and restaurants, and experience the lively atmosphere that attracts both locals and visitors.
At the end of the tour, you will be returned back to the cruise port in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.
