Overview
This tour will begin with a visit to the limestone hills of Batu Caves. Said to be more than 400 million years old, the caves include three caverns and several smaller caves and include various Hindu shrines. There are approx. 270 steps leading to the grandest of caves called the Cathedral Cave, and once inside you will see the 300-foot high ceiling. You will see the impressive golden statue of the Hindu deity called Lord Murugah, before venturing up the steps to see his temple. Explore the caves and their fascinating murals, full of images and scenes from the Hindu scripts.
You will continue into Kuala Lumpur, visiting the Royal Selangor Visitor Center. Founded in 1885 and famous for its innovative and high-quality design works. Here you will be able to watch skilled craftsmen create beautiful items out of pewter, and the intricate handwork involved.
Next on the agenda is a lunch of Malaysian favorites at a local restaurant. (not included in the price but optional supplement available to book).
Your last stop will be the National Museum, built in 1963. As you enter, you will view the impressive front murals, and be able to see the 4 different galleries covering 2 floors, including - The Malay Kingdoms Gallery, The Colonial Era Gallery, Pre-history Gallery; Malaysia Today Gallery.
At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to the port in plenty of time for your ships departure.
