Overview

Your guide will greet you at your meeting point, and drive you through the historical timeline of the island.

Your drive takes you to Betty's Hope Sugar Plantation, an incredible historical area that was a sugarcane plantation in Antigua. It was established in 1650, shortly after the island had become an English colony. You will the buildings have been developed as an open-air museum with a visitor center.

Driving to the Eastern coast of Antigua, a beautiful sight awaits at Devil's Bridge. A natural rock arch, the area around the arch features several natural blow-holes where water sprays up, from action of waves from the Atlantic Ocean. Great panoramic photo opportunity!

From natural rock to the history of Nelson's Dockyard. The English Harbour became a focal point for the establishment of a naval base after England acquired colonial British Antigua and Barbuda in 1632. Construction of the modern Naval Dockyard began in the 1740s. Among the original buildings are two hotels, a museum, craft and food shops, restaurants, and a large marina.

Next you drive to Shirley Heights Lookout Point, explore historical, partially-restored fortifications of the harbour's colonial observation post. The view is spectacular from atop the hillside at Shirley Heights. See across the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea all the way to Montserrat and Guadaloupe. Another incredible spot for memorable photos!

Your final natural landscape to view is Fig Tree Rainforest Drive. Relax as you are driven through the lush foliage of Antigua's rain forest. View banana trees, local villages and exotic greenery along the way.

After all the islands history you will be transferred back to the present and return to your meeting point near the cruise port at the end of your tour.
