Overview
Beginning with a transfer from your hotel, you will arrive at your snorkel boat where you will be greeted by your friendly, experienced guide. He/she will teach you to how to use the snorkel equipment, deflate the mask, swim with fins, and other helpful tips to make your time under the water more enjoyable.
Its a very short boat trip out to the first snorkel stop, El Meco Reef, part of the Great Mayan Reef, which happens to be one of the most protected reefs in the area. Take the plunge to discover beautiful coral, bright schools of fish, and other sea life.
Continuing on, a visit to Turtle Point is next on the agenda. While sightings are never guaranteed, your chances of seeing the amazing sea turtles are quite good. These friendly creatures rarely disappoint.
The incredible underwater art installation at the Underwater Museum is a sight to behold. Each of the life-size figures found here is made from PH-neutral clay in order to promote the growth of coral reef and marine life. The Museum aims to demonstrate the interaction between art and environmental science, and hopes to form a complex reef structure for marine life to colonize and inhabit. With crystal clear visibility, you can enjoy the sculptures from above and surround yourself in their tranquil presence.
The last snorkel stop of the day is a shipwreck, just awaiting your exploration. The wrecks location in shallow water makes it perfect for snorkelers to enjoy the coral, fish and other sea life that has taken up residence among the safety of the ships nooks and crannies.
