Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Trois Pitons National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you'll take a leisurely 20-minute guided walk along a well-trodden path through lush rainforest to reach the Emerald Pool, a serene grotto fed by a 40-foot waterfall. You’ll have time to snap photos, enjoy the tranquil surroundings, or take a refreshing dip in the cool, emerald-green waters.
Next, travel through the island’s verdant interior to the charming village of Trafalgar, home to Dominica’s most famous twin waterfalls. From the trailhead, a 20-minute walk over uneven, sometimes steep terrain brings you to the viewing platform, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Trafalgar Falls pouring side by side through a dramatic jungle gorge. Along the way, you may spot local flora like wild ginger and vanilla orchids.
Before returning to the ship, enjoy a stop at the island’s Botanical Gardens, a peaceful haven filled with exotic plants and excellent photo opportunities. Keep an eye out, you might even spot the rare and colorful Sisserou Parrot, Dominica’s national bird, found nowhere else in the world.
After your relaxing time immersed in nature, you’ll be comfortably driven back to your cruise ship.
