As the trail winds through lush tropical surroundings, you will enter a peaceful butterfly habitat filled with colorful native species fluttering freely through the trees. Watch for butterfly cocoons hanging from branches and enjoy a memorable photo opportunity at the butterfly-shaped stone selfie stand located at the end of the area.
For guests seeking a little excitement, the rope bridge offers a thrilling crossing suspended between two points overlooking beautiful scenery below. The bridge sways gently as you walk, creating a fun adrenaline-filled moment for adventurous travelers. Please note this section is optional and is not recommended for guests with mobility concerns or wheelchair users due to the steep incline and movement of the bridge.
The cultural journey continues with an introduction to the rich Garifuna heritage of Honduras. Learn about traditional clothing, cassava preparation, music, dance, and handcrafted instruments while experiencing one of the country’s most vibrant cultural communities.
The final cultural stop is a recreated 1950s sugar mill that showcases how sugar cane was traditionally processed in rural Honduras. Guests will see how oxen-powered machinery was once used to extract juice from sugar cane, offering a fascinating glimpse into island life from generations past.
After the cultural and nature experience, unwind at the world-famous West Bay Beach, known for its powdery white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
