Your guide meets you on arrival, step aboard your transport and settle in as you prepare to discover Baddeck, Iona, and the Highland Village, Nova Scotia!
Your first stop will be the Nova Scotia Highland Village Museum, a living history museum and culture center that celebrates the Gaelic experience in Nova Scotia. There is lots to discover here, learn about Gaelic language and related cultural activities. Expect traditional crafts, costumed animators, farm animals, along with thousands of artifacts and 11 period-buildings. A wonderful experience.
From there travel onwards through the scenic center of Cape Breton Island, touring to Estmere, for a trip highlight onto the Little Narrows Ferry. This is a unique cable ferry with less than a 2-minute ride! The memorable gateway to the Trans Canada Highway.
You will enjoy a brief stop at Baddeck Village, there is time to walk along the waterfront and take some photos. Onwards to Iona, Cape Breton Island locally known as the Highland Heart of Nova Scotia, you will soon discover a wonderful Gaelic culture at one of many community events or at the Highland Village outdoor pioneer museum. Surrounded by incredible scenery on the shores of the mighty Bras dOr. Simply breathtaking, perfect for capturing those unforgettable photos!
Your tour continues onto the Iona Peninsula, bringing you to the center of Cape Breton Island, a wonderful sight as you are surrounded by the Bras dOr Lakes - Canadas Only Inland Sea. The area is home to some of the best boating and sailing in the world! Not only that, the abundant coastline is home to wildlife, keep your eyes peeled for the bald eagles that breed in this area!
From here its onwards for a stop at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, time to learn the story of Alexander Graham Bell. An inventor where there is so much to admire as you discover about his inventions and work, of which much was undertaken here in Baddeck. The first telephone he invented can be found here! A fascinating experience, combined with incredible views that overlooks Baddeck Bay, on Bras d Or Lake, and Beinn Bhreagh, along with Bells summer home, where Bell pursued much of his scientific work.
Your tour will have a lunch stop, usually in Baddeck, there is a restaurant specializing in seafood or other traditional favorites in the area, at your own expense. Whatever you choose, it's a perfect stop to enjoy this incredible part of Canada.
At the end of your tour, you will settle in for your drive back to your cruise port.
