Overview
Your unforgettable adventure begins at the cruise ship pier, where you’ll meet your driver for a short and scenic transfer to the nearby helipad. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a comprehensive safety briefing to prepare for the incredible journey ahead.
This best-selling tour takes off from a helipad at the Juneau Airport for a breathtaking one-hour experience over the stunning Juneau Icefield. You’ll soar above dramatic landscapes enroute to Herbert Glacier.
Herbert Glacier requires special landing permits—permits that lower-cost tours typically don’t have access to. This means you’ll enjoy a more exclusive, tranquil landing without the constant buzz of other helicopters coming and going.
On your flight you'll be treated to aerial views of spectacular rock formations, deep crevasses, and cascading icefalls. Throughout the flight, your experienced pilot-guide will provide engaging narration, sharing insights into the region’s geology and glacial history.
Upon reaching your destination, your pilot will fully shut down the helicopter's rotors—a detail that sets this experience apart. While many tours keep engines running to save time, we take those extra few minutes to give you a peaceful, immersive experience on the glacier.
Once safely on the ice, your guide will lead you on a relaxed and informative 20–25-minute walk, offering fascinating commentary on the surrounding environment. After your exploration, you'll re-board the helicopter for a smooth return flight.
Back at the helipad, your driver will be waiting to take you back to the cruise ship pier, completing a once-in-a-lifetime Alaskan adventure.
