Overview
Are you ready to be an Alaska boatman in your own rigid hulled inflatable boat (RIB)? Bring along your first mate and take turns piloting your sturdy craft during this exhilarating guided tour. Follow your guide in your fast boat through rain forest islands, keeping an eye out for wildlife such as whales, seals, eagles, sea lions, and bears. The boat is a 14-foot Zodiac that is fully equipped with console steering and seating for four with a maximum speed of 25 knots.
You'll motor into a beach, climb onto land, and break for a hot beverage and snack. Then, for your return trip, hand the helm over to your first mate. You'll ride pass rocky islands where humpback whales and orca frequently surface, and go deep into bays and inlets where spawning salmon attract black bears.
This is the perfect excursion for spirited travelers who want the opportunity to drive their own RIB among the islands north of Ketchikan.
