Your English speaking driver will meet you at the Whittier cruise terminal, and guide you to your climate controlled motorcoach. Each guest can bring one suitcase and one carry on, plenty of space for a comfortable transfer.
Leaving the cruise port behind, travel through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel - yes you drive through the mountain! Emerging on the other side, settle in with views of the Seward Highway. Your knowledgeable driver/guide will narrate along the way sharing the history of the area, the Indigenous people and memorable landscapes.
Your journey takes you along the shoreline of Turnagain Arm and the impressive Chugach Mountains, the coastal and mountain views are simply breathtaking.
Enjoy a stop at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. A fascinating introduction to the years of history and traditions. Discover cultural experiences such as dances and storytelling and more, there are many activities inside the Center but it also extends beyond.
Take a relaxing walking trail around Lake Tiulana, with its traditional dwellings, and take some memorable photos - you have around 90 minutes at the Center and whatever you choose to see, remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Meet the Centers cultural ambassadors with their unique connections and heritage as you learn about Alutiiq, Aleut, and Southeast Alaska Native people.
Having enjoyed seeing native artwork and handicrafts, you may be tempted to pick up an authentic souvenir from the gift shop, make sure it can fit in your suitcase!
Following your visit, you will board your transport to continue your transfer with a drop off with your luggage at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (around 130pm) or your downtown hotel (around 1245pm).
