Your adventure begins with a scenic drive through evergreen forests to the Petrohué River, where you'll witness the powerful rapids cascading over ancient basalt rock formations. These striking falls were formed by the lava flows from past eruptions of Osorno Volcano, creating one of Chile’s most photogenic natural attractions.
Continue your journey up the slopes of the Osorno Volcano, an imposing, snow-capped peak rising to 2,650 meters (8,700 feet). On a clear day, enjoy panoramic views of Lake Llanquihue and the Andean mountain range. Your vehicle will reach 1,200 meters in elevation, where you’ll find a cozy ski center and café. From here, you have the option to ride the chairlift (additional cost) to approximately 1,400 meters for even more stunning views and photo opportunities.
The tour also includes a visit to Puerto Varas, known as the “City of Roses” and considered the tourist capital of southern Chile. Nestled along the shores of Lake Llanquihue, this charming town reflects its German colonial heritage blended with Chilean culture. Stroll the peaceful streets, enjoy local shops and cafés, and soak in the relaxed lakeside atmosphere.
