Overview
You will begin your tour with a journey up the famous Mt Batilamu or "Sleeping Giant", where you will head up through the fertile Sabeto Valley, which lies to the North of Nadi. At the Giant's head, the road becomes a winding track and follows the beautiful Sabeto River, towards the interior of Viti Levu.
Your destination is the picturesque and peaceful Navilawa Village, inside the Koroyanitu National Park. Guests are welcomed on arrival with a "Sevusevua or Kava ceremony in the community hall. You will take part in the traditional Fijian way of life, by preparing and cooking food.
Experience further this stunning setting and appreciate village life by accepting the offer to join your Guide for a brief walk into the rainforest on one of the many trails. This easy walk ends at a natural cave the villagers use for shelter during cyclones and is situated by a beautiful pool that can be used for a refreshing dip. Alternatively, if you do not wish to take the walk into the rainforest, guests can choose to join a guided tour of the village and its gardens.
After this wonderful experience, you will be returned to your cruise ship in plenty of time for your ships departure.
Itinerary:
- Tour will depart half an hour after the ship births into the wharf
- 1 hour scenic drive through the Sabeto valley
- 2 hours - village tour and activities (kava ceremony, Fijian food preparation and tasting, easy trek to the caves.
- 1 hour drive back to the port
