Overview
Begin the day with a scenic coastal harbor drive into Dunedin centre where we will see the famous Baldwin Street said to be the steepest road in the world! You will be able to walk up this street (if you feel fit) or we will attempt to drive up, whilst in this area there is an amazing souvenir shop on the corner, why not give it a go.
The tour will continue with a stop at Otago University to view the old clock tower building and then a visit to the Grand Railway Station where we may get a glimpse of the Taieri Gorge Train!
It will now be free time for lunch or a quick snack, take your pick from the many cafes and restaurants and eateries in the Octagon, there are many to choose from, even New Zealand fish and chips!
After lunch we head off to the Otago Peninsula via Saint Clair Beach to spot keen surfers and take in the ambiance of the Esplande. Experience breathtaking views along the high road with photo stops along route to Larnach Castle.
Your guide will be escorting through the castle, from the gun room below to the views from the turret and all the marvels in between. Learn all about the Larnach family and how they came to live here, the guide will give you the full information of the family legacy.
There may be free time at the end of the tour to take in afternoon tea in the Castles ballroom cafe before we depart back to the cruise ship in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.
