Your journey begins with convenient pickup from your cruise ship, followed by a scenic 1-hour drive inland through rolling hills and native bush to the launch site of your river adventure.
The main event is a tranquil rafting experience down a beautiful, remote stretch of river featuring gentle Grade 2 rapids—fun, splashy, but suitable for all experience levels. Glide past lush native forests and sheer rock faces as the melodic call of native birds like tui and kereru accompany your descent. Those feeling adventurous can even hop out and swim alongside the raft in the crystal-clear, drinkable river water—completely safe and incredibly refreshing.
Along the way, your experienced local guide will share fascinating stories that stretch back 80 million years, covering the region’s geological origins, unique ecology, and the rich cultural history of the local Maori people, through to European settlement and the area's evolution into modern New Zealand.

Minimum age to participate is 2 years old on grade 2 rapids.

Capacity per each raft is 8 guests.

Unaccompied minors are not allowed.

Life jacket recommended weights: minimum weight is 22 pounds/10kgs per person and maximum weight is 440 pounds/200kgs per person.

Duration time may vary between 5.5 - 7 hours depending on river and road conditions. You will be returned to your ship on time.
