Overview
The calm, clear, shallow water of Tahiti's lagoon is a superb place to learn to dive.
You'll climb right on board the boat and while en route to the dive location, your patient, knowledgeable and experienced instructor will teach you the basics of scuba diving.
Before you know it you will be comfortable with your new gear and ready to experience life beneath the waters surface.
With your guide right alongside you, its time to take the plunge.
You'll dive into a protected marine life area where brightly colored angelfish, lionfish, triggerfish, and many others will entertain you.
Beautiful corals abound and you might spy a sea turtle or two.
Another possible site is a wreck dive.
Often, in order to do wreck diving, you have to head down deep.
But even in the lagoons shallow waters, you can explore a plane wreck and 2 boat wrecks.
All of these former modes of transportation were intentionally placed here as artificial reefs.
And as expected, local sea creatures have taken up residence in, on, and around them.
You're likely to find corals, clownfish, anemones, and turtles here.
Your divemaster will determine the dive site best suited to the days weather and water conditions, your comfort level, and that of your fellow divers.
