This tour combines these natural wonders with a visit to a Maori village to make for a truly authentic New Zealand experience unlike any other!
Your guide welcomes you at your cruise port, where you will board your comfortable transportation ready for this full day ashore!
You journey to Rotorua, your first stop, and along the way you will enjoy several photo stops. The first is at Mt. Maunganui, an extinct volcano surrounded by turquoise waters and white sandy beaches, a beautiful view. Continuing on, you will pass through Kiwifruit capital of New Zealand Country, making a quick stop for you to see kiwifruit up close and enjoy New Zealand’s famous kiwifruit.
Your last stop before arriving in Rotorua will be at Whakarewarewa Redwood Forest and experience nature at it's best. After this is your lunch opportunity – your guide will take you to a café where you can purchase as much or as little as you wish.
After lunch get ready to appreciate local culture as you head to the Whakarewarewa Geothermal Living Maori Village. You will be escorted by a local guide and will learn all about the importance of the geothermal activity, rich in this area, and how it supports their everyday life. Surrounded by natural geothermal wonders this will be a truly memorable experience, as well as a cultural immersion!
Before returning to your cruise ship, enjoy a tour of Rotorua city. You will see the magnificent Government Gardens with Rachels pool, an alkaline hot spring, as well as the historic bath house and Polynesian Spa. Enroute back to your ship, stop at Kaituna Rapids/waterfall and trout pool to enjoy a glimpse of New Zealand nature at its best.
