The experience begins at the “Largo della Pace” cruise terminal in Civitavecchia, easily accessible via the free shuttle bus service provided by your cruise ship. From there, we’ll set off by coach on a scenic journey to reach the heart of Rome.
Experience the city’s timeless history through its most iconic monuments and landmarks during an engaging external tour that captures the essence of Rome’s grandeur.
Our first stop is Vatican City, where you’ll stroll through St. Peter’s Square, admire Bernini’s architectural brilliance, and marvel at the breathtaking St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the most important churches in the world. After a guided introduction, you’ll have free time to explore independently before rejoining your tour leader for a panoramic drive along the Tiber River, passing Tiber Island, the lively Trastevere district, Circus Maximus, and the Arch of Constantine.
The second part of your tour begins near the legendary Colosseum, with a walking route that takes you past this symbol of ancient Roman might. Continue onward to the Roman Forum, once the vibrant center of public life, and Piazza Venezia, crowned by the monumental Vittoriano.
Next, you’ll visit the enchanting Trevi Fountain, where you can take photographs and toss a coin to ensure your return to Rome. From there, independent exploration may lead you to the Pantheon, a marvel of ancient engineering and one of the best-preserved temples in the city.
The final chapter of your walk unfolds in Piazza Navona, where your tour leader awaits amid the elegance of Baroque Rome. Admire Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers and the graceful façade of Sant’Agnese in Agone, surrounded by the charm of Roman cafés and street art.
As the day draws to a close, you’ll return to the coach for a comfortable ride back to Civitavecchia, carrying with you indelible memories of the Eternal City’s splendor.
