Meet your expert local guide at the entrance to the Old Fortress before setting off into the historic heart of Corfu Town. As we wander through atmospheric streets and elegant squares, you’ll uncover the fascinating mix of Venetian, French and British influences that has shaped the island over the centuries.
Our first stop is the peaceful Boschetto Gardens, also known as the Durrells Garden. Take a moment to enjoy the greenery, colourful plants and beautiful views before continuing deeper into the Old Town.
We’ll then discover the impressive Palace of Saint Michael and Saint George, built during the British period and now home to the Museum of Asian Art. From there, stroll along the elegant Liston Promenade, with its distinctive French-inspired architecture, before visiting St. Spyridon Church, the spiritual home of Corfu’s patron saint.
Continuing our walk, we’ll see the imposing New Fortress, a remarkable Venetian stronghold built to defend the city, and pass the San Giacomo Theatre, Greece’s oldest opera house and an important part of Corfu’s musical heritage.
Finally, step into Campiello, the oldest neighbourhood of Corfu Town. Its narrow lanes, weathered façades and picturesque corners offer a glimpse into traditional island life and provide the perfect setting to finish our exploration.
