During this journey, you will visit Grundarfjordur and Arnarstapi, both charming fishing villages. The town of Grundarfjordur is situated next to the famous Kirkjufell mountain. With its spectacular cascading waterfall, this mountain is one of the main draws of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The small town of Arnarstapi is quaint yet picturesque, and not to be underestimated with its stunning coasts and cliffs.
After admiring this fissure vent system, stop and see Djúpalónssandur, an awe-inspiring black sand beach. The rock formations along the coast will make you feel as if you are on another planet. After exploring Djúpalónssandur, you will get to see another spectacular rock formation called Lóndrangar - a pair of pointy cliffs, rising from the shore of the southern Snæfellsnes peninsula. You will then jouney to Ytri Tunga, a beach that is well-known for the seal colony that resides there. If you are lucky you will spot a few of these magnificent creatures!
