Overview
There is no better way to discover the famous Delta region than with this half day tour to Tigre.
Soak in its natural beauty and discover the way the locals lead their lives.
Travel along the Avenida Costanera which lies parallel to the Rio de la Plata.
An estuary made up from the Uruguay and Parana River.
A perfect place to capture the views of this spectacularly vast river.
Our first stop will be at the City of San Isidro.
Our guides will take you to know the beautiful Catedral de San Isidro and the popular mansions inhabited by old aristocratic families from Buenos Aires. Constructed in Neogothic style by French architects, the Cathedral de San Isidro stands 223 ft tall with its base the shape of the Latin cross.
Hop back onto the bus to travel on to Tigre where you will be able to explore the Delta with a relaxing 40-minute trip on a catamaran.
Being the gateway to the rivers and wetlands of this vast delta, Tigre is the ideal place for your adventure.
With the towns old fruit harbor now a busy craft market, you will get a real sense of local craft work and sense the local way of life.
See how the lush green land has been divided into hundreds of islands by the veins of water flowing in all avenues.
The Delta is still today a hive of activity with its hops, river taxis, floating boats and rafts allowing you to notice the difference in lifestyle that has evolved and adapted to every changing condition.
Coming close to the end of your boat trip you will get the chance to pass the houses built on stilts over the water's edge and the house turned museum of the former president, Sarmiento.
Dated back to 1860, he named the house "Procida" after the small island off the coast of Naples, Italy.
Today the house is now encased in a glass box for protection, which this can be viewed from the waters.
At the end of your boat trip you will begin your journey back to the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires where you will have free time to explore on you own before making your own way back to the cruise ship.
