Overview
This tour will depart from the cruise port in Marmaris. Upon reaching Dalyon we will be transferred to a smaller boat to be taken up the stunning river delta which was used in the film 'The African Queen' staring Humphrey Bogart. This area is well known in Turkey as being one of the most unspoiled towns. As we travel up the river towards the King Rock Tombs, we will see all kinds of wildlife living in the reeds including turtles, birds and fish.
Our first stop is to the King Rock Tombs which date back to around 3000 BC. Although there are several rock tombs around the area, the Kings Rocks Tombs are the most famous. These tombs are the resting place of the Kings of Caunos. They are carved in the style of Lycian Rock Tombs.
Our next stop will be the mud baths located on the River Koycegiz. The baths are popular tourists and celebrities alike and everyone loves having their photos taken in the mud! The mud is supposed to have a beautifying effect on the skin and is meant to help cure skin problems and gastric problems!
Our guide will then take you back to the port, again on the little boat so any photo opportunities you missed on the way up you get again on the way back to the port.
