Overview
From the port of Messina you will drive in the direction or Mount Etna, passing through the nice villages of Piedimonte and Linguaglossa on the way.
Although it is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, in general it is not regarded as being particularly dangerous and thousands of people live on its slopes and in the surrounding areas. The volcano is about 3,300 metres high, and your vehicle will take you up to about 2,000 metres to see the forest, distinguished craters, solid lava, and more. Comfortable shoes are a must, as you get out to take a closer look and explore the most interesting spots!
After Mount Etna you will continue on to Taormina, located high on a mountaintop above the harbor. The town is known for its wonderful scenery as well as its position as one of Sicilys chicest resort towns. This is a gorgeous town with a romantic atmosphere and plenty of excellent restaurants, bars, shopping and plazas to relax and enjoy a cappuccino.
You may also choose to visit the Teatro Greco, the most impressive monument of the city.
At the end of your tour, you will take your transportation for your return drive to your cruise port.
