Overview
You will begin your tour with a drive to Hoi An Town (Dependent on the port your cruise docks at, this journey can take between 45 mins up to 2 hours because of congestion on the day of the tour). Along the way you will make a stop to visit the XQ embroidery workshop, where you will see the Vietnamese girls working hard on beautiful embroidered pieces.
Continuing your tour, you will then visit Hoi An Silk village. Upon arrival at the village, you will be welcomed, and have a quick tour brief before enjoying a light lunch in this tranquil atmosphere.
After lunch, after lunch you will visit the Traditional House and will be introduced to the history of silk unravelling and silk weaving. Learn about the Cham Culture by seeing the collection of Cham mulberry trees and the weaving process of Cham People from the 5th century to the mid-15th century. You will find out how the ancient silk manufacturing process works and understand how to get silk thread from the cocoon to weave silk fabric. You will also discover the weaving process of Cham People on short and long wooden loom to have the unique handicraft products. Explore the pure handicraft silk in the beginning of the 20th century which is preserved till now in Quang Nam Province.
The final part of the tour will show you the Hoi An Silk Village exhibition, to experience the difference between pure silk and fake silk fabric. There are large variety silk products here, which you can purchase should you wish to do so.
At the end of the tour, you will return back to the port in plenty of time for your ships departure.
The ship could sometimes change its itinerary and dock in Chan May port (Hue City) instead of Tien Sa port, Da Nang City.
