Travel to Miyajima Island to visit Itsukushima Shrine (10:00–12:00), one of Japan’s most iconic Shinto shrines. Famous for its large vermilion torii gate that appears to float on the sea at high tide, the shrine is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an important symbol of Japanese spiritual culture. Set against a backdrop of mountains and water, Itsukushima Shrine offers beautiful scenery and a calm, peaceful atmosphere that has inspired visitors for centuries.
After the visit, drive to the center of Hiroshima City for the afternoon portion of the tour.
From 13:00 to 14:30, explore the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum, a place dedicated to remembering the victims of the atomic bombing in 1945 and promoting the importance of lasting world peace. The park provides a quiet and reflective environment where visitors from around the world come to honor the past and consider the future.
Inside the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, learn about the history and impact of the atomic bomb through authentic artifacts, photographs, and personal accounts. The exhibits help convey the human cost of the event and emphasize the value of peace and human life.
Within the park, view the Atomic Bomb Dome, one of the few buildings left standing near the explosion site. Preserved as it was after the bombing, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and remains a powerful symbol of peace.
After this meaningful and educational experience, return to the port at approximately 15:00.
