Overview
On arrival, drive through Putra Jaya Government Centre. While Kuala Lumpur is the official and royal capital of Malaysia, Putrajaya is the administrative and judicial center of the country's government. See the modern Arabic-style buildings of the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, Malaysia's first Prime Minister. This outstanding complex spans an impressive 11,320 acres comprising of 13 different gardens. It has over 70% of its space devoted to greenery and water. The principle feature of the landscape is the Putrajaya Wetland, a man-made lake. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Putrajaya, the wetlands are built along the arms of the Chua and Bisa rivers.
Putrajaya Wetlands is believed to be the largest man-made freshwater wetlands in the tropics and the first one of its kind in Malaysia. Home to over 50 local species of native wetland plants that were cultivated in the wetlands prior to planting in the wetland cells.
From here we will drive through the center where you will see many of the new government complexes in the township. See the Putra Mosque, standing beside Dataran Putra and facing the Putrajaya Lake. The most imposing of structures, the Putra Mosque is certainly stunning. The pinkish Mosque incorporates architectural elements from Turkestan, Kazakhstan, and Morocco. See the eye-catching building on the main hill, the Prime Ministers office, Putra Perdana.
Our final stop will be at the Lake. Here you will board the vessel and take a leisurely cruise over its waters. From the comfort of the boat, you will be able to see the sights of Putrajaya, allowing you to enjoy the city now known as the Intelligent Garden City from a truly unique perspective.
Once your cruise is over we will board the transport and make our way back to the cruise port in plenty of time for the cruise ships departure.
