Overview
On this full-day tour, you will experience Kuala Lumpur, a city of contrasts divided between historic sites and modern sophisticated architecture. This tour will enlighten you about Malaysia's top destinations and their beautiful landmarks. You will explore the streets of this metropolis and learn about the culture and history of Malaysia with its temples and skyscrapers.
You will begin your tour with a visit to the Thean Hou Temple (please dress in a manner appropriate for this religious site), a temple dedicated to the Goddess Thean Hou. It is considered to be one of the biggest temples in Chinese culture and combines a mixture of Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. As you enter, you will be welcomed by the red pillars, the multi-arched gateway, its ornate carvings, impressive roofs, and ceiling art.
Your next stop will be the National Museum, built in 1963. As you enter, you will view the impressive front murals and be able to see the 4 different galleries covering 2 floors, including The Malay Kingdoms Gallery, The Colonial Era Gallery, Pre-history Gallery, and Malaysia Today Gallery.
Continuing on, you will take a walking tour to reach the main square of the city, Independence Square (Dataran Merdeka). On your walking tour around the square, your guide will point out the many historical buildings such as the Victorian Fountain, Cathedral of St. Mary, Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, and the Textile Museum. You will also be able to stop for pictures overlooking the Klang River. You will take a stroll through the central market and Chinatown and have a photo stop at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple.
The last part of the tour will take you to the stunning Petronas Twin Towers. Here you will have approx. 60 minutes of free time to explore the area.
At the end of your free time, you will be taken back to the port in plenty of time for your ship's departure.
Please note: This tour does not include inside visits to Petronas Tower and due to the popularity and the duration involved to reach the top, we do not recommend entry as timings might not be suitable.
