Overview
Upon arrival, your friendly guide will welcome you and lead you on to your first stop of the tour. You will experience a relaxing boat ride through the narrow canals of the area ending with a visit to one of the nearby temples so you can really soak up the local atmosphere.
Then its on to a village walk where you'll have the opportunity to witness a variety of local activities, such as coconut processing, plucking, and de-husking, ready to weave the fiber into various mats, brooms, and handicrafts to sell on. Next, there's a visit to a herbal plantation where you will have the opportunity to learn all you could ever want to know from your experienced tour guide, before moving on to visit a few other popular sights of the area such as an oil extraction center to watch how this fascinating process is carried out and the khadi handloom center where you can view locals working hard at their craft and learn more about what they do.
At the end of an enlightening tour, your guide will escort you to your air-conditioned transport for your transfer back to the ship where you relax and reflect on a day filled with cultural enrichment.
