Overview
Please note that this is a small group walking tour
Komodo Island is one of over 17000 small islands that make up Indonesia and is most well known as the habitat of the Komodo Dragon - the largest lizard in the world. The inhabitants on the island are descendants of former convicts who were exiled to the island and are predominantly Islamic with some groups of Hindus and Christians.
On this tour, we are joined by our local English speaking guide and a Komodo National Park Ranger as we journey in search of the famous Komodo Dragon through the unspoiled nature. Along the way, we'll catch a glimpse of some of the island's other four-legged residents including wild buffalo, deer, and wild pigs as well as a wide variety of tropical birds. After our guided walk we will will return to Loh Liang for a short time to explore the traditional local market stalls and shops.
Be sure to bring your camera on this special tour as you will want to capture the magical moment you finally get to meet this magnificent beast in its natural habitat.
