Overview
You will depart from the pier to Langkawi's most prominent landmark, situated near the Kuah Jetty. Eagle Square’s main attraction is the magnificent statue of the reddish-brown eagle majestically poised for flight. Local folklore states that Langkawi (Lang-Kawi) derived its name from the word "helang” (eagle) while "Kawi" (from old Malay language) denotes reddish-brown. Therefore, Langkawi means "Reddish-brown Eagle”.
Continue your tour to Kuah town, for shopping. Langkawi is a duty-free island, where you can find and purchase some great deals in alcohol, chocolates, perfumes, and kitchenware at bargain prices. Your tour guide on the day will give you information on where the best stores to bag a bargain. Take your time browsing or simply take a break at our local restaurants in the area to sample some local cuisine.
