Overview
Your tour will begin from Mumbai port where you will be met by your chauffeur in early AM. This tour is approx. 20 hours in duration, so an early morning pick up is needed in order to take in all there is to see in Jaipur. You will be taken to the airport where you will fly to Jaipur. The flight to Jaipur will take approx. 2 hours each way.
Once in Jaipur, you will be met by your guide who will then take you on your sightseeing tour.
Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan India & is known as the 'Pink' City, due to the many painted buildings. Rich in history, you will admire the wonderful sights this city has to offer, as well as see some of the city's top attractions. Including, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Hill of Eagles, Aravalli Hills, City Palace Jaipur, Royal Observatory, Palace of Winds, and much more.
You will begin your full-day tour at Amber Fort, where you may get the opportunity to ride an elephant (at your own expense). The fort is located in Amer just 6.8 miles from Jaipur. It is located high on a hill and is known for its artistic style of Hindu elements. You will see large defensive walls, a series of gates, and cobbled paths, plus the magnificent view over Maota Lake.
Continuing on, you will venture up the Hill of Eagles where you will visit Jaigarh Fort & take in the panoramic views of the Aravalli hills.
One of the city's top attractions is the palace complex of the City Palace with the nearby Royal Observatory. Built in the early 18th Century, the City Palace includes striking courtyards, gardens & impressive buildings. You will learn how parts of this historic structure are used as the royal residence today.
Explore the Palace of Winds, also known as Hawa Mahal. Constructed Of red bricks, the facade was built to allow the royals to view the festivities in the street below without being seen. One of the city's top attractions, this late 18th-Century palace stands on a hill overlooking the streets below
There will be some free time for shopping, where you will be able to pick up wonderful souvenirs of brightly embroidered fabrics, blue pottery, silver jewelry, and semi-precious stones. Your guide on the day will be able to point out the best places to shop and grab a bit to eat.
