Jamaica's Green Grotto Caves, known as this because of the green algae which cover its walls, is not just one of the country's most beautiful natural wonders, but it is also teeming with exciting history which spans back to the 15th century.
On this tour, you will be picked up by a driver at your cruise ship port and driven to the caves which are located in Discovery Bay. From there you will be greeted by a local tour guide who will transport you back in time through the caves history. Maybe you’ll discover an ancient artifact from the Arawak Indian tribe that used to inhabit the caves or encounter an escaped slave who’s using its weaving pathways to evade capture. Either way, you’ll be captivated by the caverns rich and fascinating history.
Throughout your trip in these vast caves, you’ll be allowed time to explore the many limestone walls, stalactites, and stalagmites that these tremendous caves possess before eventually being greeted by an exquisite crystal clear emerald lake which you’ll discover as you delve down the caves many walkways.
After your tour is over you’ll be driven back to your cruise ship's port.
