Meet your English speaking guide at the port to begin your 90 minute drive through the lowlands of Guatemala.
Sit back and relax as you listen to your guide as you pass by stunning countryside, farms and even stop for a photo opportunity at the Volcanic Lava river before reaching Antigua. This unique city founded in the early 16th Century is home to many ruined monuments. Named a UNESCO world heritage site, the ruins are now preserved for you to see. This picture postcard town is the perfect place to spend a little time.
Your next stop of the day is the La Azotea Cultural Centre, a museum complex set in a 150-year old coffee mill and plantation just 5 mins out of the town of Antigua. The Centre and its museums show the history of Guatemalan coffee production from field to cup, filled with interesting exhibits and fascinating facts. Casa K'ojom, a traditional Mayan music museum, houses instruments from pre-Columbian times and the Rincon de Sacatepéquez Museum items related to traditional Guatemalan attire.
A true coffee paradise with the opportunity to sample some local beans and chocolates too!
It's then time to enjoy the wonderful scenery on your drive back to port in plenty of time for your cruise ship departure.
