A Day in Florence

Overview

Your representative will meet you at the port of La Spezia and guide you to your air-conditioned transportation, ready to begin the scenic drive through the spectacular Tuscan countryside to Florence.

Florence is a very popular Italian city and holds many wonderful attractions.

It is a Renaissance city situated in the heart of Tuscany and has some of Italy's best museums, beautiful cathedrals and churches, and many interesting streets that lead to squares offering elegant buildings and fabulous architecture.

Your tour includes many highlights and you will be visiting some of the most beautiful places such as the Duomo, the famous cathedral dome that dominates the skyline of Florence, with its eight white ribs set against a background of terracotta tiles.
Giotto's Tower, the Baptistery, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Santa Croce which is the largest Franciscan church in Italy that holds the tombs of several important Florentines including Michelangelo and Dante.

Florence is home to both the Uffizi with its fantastic selection of Paintings and the Academia gallery, famous for housing the real Statue of David.
Both galleries are in easy walking distance within the city center.

The vast interior contains some exceptional stained glass windows and frescoes.
One of Brunelleschi's most important works, the Cappella dei Pazzi, is also in Santa Croce.
We will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch and then afterwards our tour will continue by coach to see much more Italian Art whilst enjoying more in depth sightseeing.

Your tour concludes with a leisurely coach journey back to the port of La Spezia in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.

All the museums in the center of Florence, are closed every Monday throughout the year.
Tickets free of charge will be provided for EU citizens under 18 years old of age to visit the famous Academy Gallery.
In order to secure free tickets, we would require to contact us directly for the booking.

Your driver will give you all the details about pick up times and meeting points and will always have a mobile with him, in case you decide to leave a destination earlier than scheduled, it can be arranged on the day.
The driver is not able to leave the vehicle and accompany you to specific sites in the center due to strict parking regulations in the city centers.
