Overview
Your Professional English speaking guide will meet you at the port in Livorno and take you through the lovely Tuscan countryside through the Chianti region. During the tour there will be several stops to take photographs of the truly mesmerizing views.
The Tuscan Country-side is one of the loveliest in the World. The gentle hills covered with olive trees and vineyards, the farm houses and villas on the hilltops surrounded by cypress trees offer unique views which are pleasing to the eye and refreshing for the soul.
Our driver then takes us through the beautiful Tuscan countryside (approx. 1 hour) to the fascinating city of Florence. Built on both sides of the Arno River, Florence has had a significant impact not only on the culture of Italy but that of Europe as well.
Heading into Florence’s city centre we’ll see amongst other sights:
Santa Croce Church
Piazza del Duomo and Giotto’s Bell Tower
Piazza della Signoria (Palazzo Vecchio)
Piazza della Repubblica
The elegant Ponte Vecchio (The Old Bridge)
We have free time to explore the narrow streets full of shops, café bars and trattorias – or simply relax and admire the beautiful views across the river.
Comfortable shoes are recommended for this tour as there will be a lot of walking involved. After a fascinating day discovering and exploring through these charming Tuscan towns, we return to Livorno in plenty of time to rejoin our cruise ship.
