Overview
Our first call will be at the Dutch Church at Wolfendhal, the oldest Protestant Church in use in Sri Lanka. We then journey on to the oldest Hindu Temple known as Kathiresan Temple.
We enjoy some sightseeing around bustling and vibrant Colombo including a panoramic view of the immense Dewatagaha Mosque. We will also catch a glimpse of the 100-year-old clock tower and several British-built buildings such as the Old Parliament building. We will also manage to see the Galle Face, an ocean-side urban park that stretches along the coast.
We continue on to the Gem Museum and Craft Centre. Sri Lanka is known for its best quality of jewels and we feast our eyes on the selections of diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, pearls, and much more!
We then move on to Gangaramaya Temple. Once an area of swamp beside Beira Lake, it is now known to be an iconic complex consisting of a stunning temple & assembly halls, and a lake with breathtaking views.
Next will be Independence Square, also known as Independence Memorial Hall, which is a national monument in Sri Lanka built for the commemoration of the independence of Sri Lanka.
We conclude our tour by visiting the Pettah market, where you will have free time to browse the quaint market stalls and shop for local, traditional gifts to take home with you.
