Start with an introduction to your expert, a naturalist guide who has handled just about any situation in the wild tropical wetland that sits between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Your guide is ready to take you on an adventure that you will be tempted to share with friends throughout, but a warning - keep your eyes peeled and your hands to yourself. And if you blink at the wrong time, you might miss seeing that gator tail swish by!

Begin your adventure on an amazing wetlands trail trek in the midst of the bird rookery, home to more bird species and wildlife than any other in Florida. You will find yourself immersed by nature of the trail itself, with views of a wide variety of birds and alligators up close as this is an important bird rookery. There are wading birds everywhere. An awesome photography opportunity. It is on the Great Florida Birding Trail.

This is an easy walk, made complicated only by all there is to see.

From here get on board your airboat, where you will ride into the heart of the REAL Everglades. This is really where the wildlife abounds. Your one-hour airboat adventure takes you into the heart of the REAL Everglades, veering intentionally from those that play it safe. There are no alligators in pens or cages on this tour.

Enjoy the seclusion in an authentic, totally non-touristy path from the start. Your guide will help you understand the need to preserve this ecosystem, which is so unique to this area. On this authentic trip, you will see wild alligators and other wildlife up close!

This tour is available from November through April.
Dress comfortably for a walk.
The airboat ride is a small group shared experience lasting approximately one hour.
We can pick you up from the Port of Miami or Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale.
We pick up from hotels and locations in Broward County and Miami-Dade County. If you are coming from somewhere north of Commercial Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale, we may provide you with a convenient meeting location.
We provide complimentary luggage storage as well as optional airport/hotel drop off. We will ask you for more information at the time of booking.
Parts of this tour are weather permitting.
Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair.
As with any tour, times may vary due to unexpected traffic issues and your location. The initial drive time is approximately 45 minutes from Miami and 45 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale.
