Overview
The City of Miami has been evolving nonstop ever since Henry Flagler was persuaded by Julia Tuttle and Mary and William Brickell to extend his railroad south from Jacksonville.
When Flagler’s railway reached Miami in 1896, a city was born, one that would grow into today’s dynamic region of 34 villages, towns, and cities.
Our journey begins in South Beach, where we experience the iconic Ocean Drive, lined with colorful Art Deco architecture, lively restaurants, and charming bistros, capturing the essence of Miami’s famous beach lifestyle.
Crossing to the mainland, we pass Bayside Marketplace, a vibrant waterfront hub filled with shops and kiosks.
Nearby, Miami’s complimentary Metromover glides across the Miami River and into Brickell Avenue, home to the city’s international financial district and striking modern skyline.
We continue past Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the stunning Italian-style palazzo estate, before heading to Coconut Grove, Miami’s oldest neighborhood and a historic Bahamian fishing village known for its shady streets and relaxed charm.
Next is Coral Gables, the architectural vision of George Merrick.
Known as “The City Beautiful,” this elegant community features lush landscapes, grand mansions, the historic Biltmore Hotel, and the must-see Venetian Pool.
Our tour then takes us to Little Havana, the cultural heart of Miami’s Cuban community, where, time permitting, you may enjoy a traditional cafecito, authentic Cuban coffee, before we make our way to our final destination: the ship.
