Overview

Your Venture Ashore representative meets you at your cruise port and will guide you to your private transport.

Leave the port behind and your tour begins with a trip to Valletta, Malta's capital city, for a guided tour through the bustling streets. This unique city built for gentlemen by gentlemen was built after the Great Siege of 1565 and named after the Grand Master Jean Parisot de la Valletta.

In Valletta your first stop is at the Barrakka Gardens, built on the elevated bastion ramparts. These beautiful gardens commend stunning panoramic views of the Grand Harbor and the three cities.

Next, you will visit St. John's Cathedral, this splendid church was originally the conventual church of the Order of St. John. With its fine Baroque architecture, elaborate Grand Masters' monuments and exclusive precious works of art including a Caravaggio this cathedral is not to be missed.

After the Cathedral, continue your walking tour to see from the outside the Grand Masters Palace. This Magisterial Palace was the official and private residence of the Grand Master of the Order. Today the Palace is the splendid residence of the President of Malta. Continue your walking tour in Valletta.

Afterwards, you will journey to the Southern part of the island in order to discover the historical area known as the Three Cities: Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea. A drive past Cospicua will bring you to Vittoriosa where you shall walk through the various narrow streets shaded by many historic buildings and churches. From the old quay you will get the opportunity to take a typical 'fregatina' for a tour of the famous harbor creeks (subject to weather conditions; cost of fregatina not included in tour price). Admire the quay where super yachts are docked.

At the end of your memorable tour you will be dropped off at the airport in plenty of time to catch your flight.

Please note:
Churches and cathedrals are closed to tourists on Saturday afternoons and Sundays. Therefore the order of itineraries may change according to the days of the week selecting. The Cathedrals are also closed on Mondays and Thursday. The order of the site visits can be changed at the discretion of the guide and subject to entrance timings.

All Heritage Malta Sites (most museums and sites) are closed on the following days: 24,25 and 31 December, 1 January and Good Friday.
