Overview
You will be met by your driver at the cruise port of Saint John, ready to commence your discovery of the Bay of Fundy.
Within this 5.5 hour tour, you will learn all about the history and development of the area and the famous Bay of Fundy. The Bay of Fundy is famous for its coastline and high tides, experiencing some of the highest tides in the world and its also home to an incredible fossil record of life dating back millions of years.
During this tour, there will be many places to visit, including the opportunity to spend time and explore, here are just some of the places:
- • King's Square - King Square is a historic public square located in the heart of Saint John, in honour of King George III. Designed in 1785 it is modelled after traditional British squares and is one of the main focal points of Saint John. Locals gather here to enjoy the area or simply relax in the surroundings.
- • Saint John City Market - The Saint John City Market, located in the heart of uptown Saint John, New Brunswick, is the oldest farmer's market in Canada, with roots dating back to 1785. The City Market serves as a unique historical and culinary hub in Saint John.
- • Rockwood Park - It is the second largest urban park in Canada and The first biggest intercity Park of New Brunswick with 2,200 acres of unspoiled natural beauty, with ten lakes and 55 trails and footpaths.
- • Fort Howe National Historic Site of Canada - National historic site of Canada build by Britisher in 1777, during American revolution, this location offers a panoramic view of the harbour and city.
- • Reversing Falls Rapids - It's a unique phenomenon created by the collision of the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River. At low tide the river empties into the bay causing a series of rapids and whirlpools. As the tide rises, it slows the river current for a brief period—called slack tide and turd the river completely in the opposite direction in high tide.
- • St. Martins Sea Caves - Explore the famous sea caves of Saint Martins. View the red sandstone sea caves, carved out by millions of years of the mighty tides and explore this quaint village with its lighthouse, fishing boats, and charming covered bridges.
The itinerary of the day can be altered, this will be dependent on the day.
At the end of the tour, you will be returned back to your cruise ship in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure.
