Revered by the lower classes, Eva PerÃ³n is a name known around the world as an advocate of those in need. Though her name was MarÃa Eva Duarte de PerÃ³n, she is better known as just Eva PerÃ³n or by the nickname Evita. As an Argentine actress, politician, activist, and philanthropist, her position as the First Lady of Argentina certainly elevated her to another level when she married Argentine President Juan Domingo PerÃ³n. From June 1946 until her death in July 1952, she ran the Ministries of Labor and Health, founded and ran the charitable Eva PerÃ³n Foundation, championed womens suffrage in Argentina, and founded and ran the nations first large-scale female political party, the Female Peronist Party.

She accomplished so much for the people in her short life, dying at the age of 33.
