Overview
Manaus, the capital of the Brazilian State of Amazonas, is located on the northern bank of the Rio Negro. It is the gateway city to the largest tropical rain forest on the planet: The Amazon.
The Golden Age of Manaus was in the early 1900s, when, thanks to the exportation of natural rubber, it became one of the richest cities in the world. Hundreds of architects, city planners, and landscape designers came from Europe and transformed the city into a European-looking town known as "Little Paris of the Jungle."
You will depart from the floating port, which was built by the British in 1903 keeping in mind the annual rise and fall of the Rio Negro.
