Overview
Leave Puerto Madryn and drive to the Valdés Peninsula.
Stop at Puerto Pirámides, the starting point for an optional whale-watching or nautical tour (at your own expense). You will have free time at Puerto Pirámides (optional lunch, not included).
You will visit the sea lion colony of Punta Pirámides. Continue to Punta Cantorthe southern point of Caleta Valdes where you can observe sea elephants on the shore. On the way back, drive along a strip of land that connects to the continent: the Ameghino Isthmus, with its interesting interpretation center.
During the day, stop at different viewpoints to observe local fauna like guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras, armadillos, choiques, skunks, and more.
Total distance covered on this tour is 400km/250 miles.
Please note: optional whale watching tour is available for purchase (subject to availability) mid-June to early December. Optional nautical tour to see sea lions and cormorants available for purchase (subject to availability) January to end of March.

Not all species of wildlife are present throughout the year; therefore the sightings of wildlife depend on migration patterns.

Optional whale watching tour is available from mid June to early December/optional nautical tour available January to end of March. Price is approximately $83 USD per person subject to availability.

Please contact Venture Ashore before booking if you will be bringing a wheelchair or scooter as we will need to check vehicle availability for access. Most of the tours include long distances, guests can spend most of the day on the vehicle, some of the paths may not be well adapted, it may include short/ long waking distances through nature with different difficulty levels.
